Under The Christmas Sky may come across as intense, but it’s a heartfelt intensity that truly resonates with us during the Countdown to Christmas season. We adore movies that tug at our heartstrings and even make us shed a tear or two, and this one promises to do just that.

What adds to our excitement is the stellar cast, featuring two beloved actors, Jessica Parker Kennedy and Ryan Paevey, whom we’ve cherished since their days in “Secret Circle” and “General Hospital.”

So, what’s the story behind this movie? “Under The Christmas Sky” follows the journey of Kat (played by Kennedy), a once-promising astronaut whose career was derailed by a car accident, leaving her with a blind spot. Despite her family’s best efforts to uplift her spirits with Christmas traditions like baking cookies, decorating trees, and holiday shopping, Kat still yearns for her lost passion. That’s when her brother, Andy, discovers a local planetarium exhibit and urges Kat to get involved. Reluctantly, she agrees.

Kat is partnered with curator David (portrayed by Paevey), who is initially resistant to outside help. Their collaboration involves incorporating community engagement and Christmas festivities into their planning, but their differing approaches and personalities clash. However, as the magic of Christmas and their shared love for space take hold, Kat and David discover common ground, and their holiday exhibit becomes a huge success. Riding this wave of triumph, they decide to host a Santa tracking party on Christmas Eve, unwilling to part ways just yet.

As their collaboration draws to a close and Kat contemplates a job offer in another state, their budding connection and growing affection are put to the test. The future is uncertain, but with a touch of Christmas spirit, these two may find their path to happiness on Christmas day.

Ryan Paevey, who plays David, first gained recognition as Detective Nathan West on ABC’s “General Hospital” in December 2013, quickly becoming a fan favorite. His departure from the show left an indelible mark in soap opera history. During his tenure on “General Hospital,” Paevey also showcased his acting talent in Hallmark Channel’s original movies, such as “Unleashing Mr. Darcy” in 2016 and “Harvest Love” in 2017.

In 2018, he appeared in “Marrying Mr. Darcy” on Hallmark Channel and “Hope at Christmas” on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. Paevey continued to captivate audiences with his roles in various Hallmark Channel movies, including “From Friend to FiancĂ©,” “A Summer Romance,” and “Christmas at the Plaza.” His versatility also extended to a guest arc on the BET drama series “Games People Play.”

Paevey’s most recent works include the Hallmark Channel original movie “Fourth Down In Love” and prior roles in films like “Two Tickets to Paradise,” “Matching Hearts,” “A Timeless Christmas,” “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart,” “A Little Daytime Drama,” and “Coyote Creek Christmas.”

Although Paevey’s roots are in Southern California, he spent his childhood exploring the great outdoors, with acting far from his mind. His modeling career began as a side hustle while working in construction, thanks to his striking features. In addition to his print work, he made an appearance in Christina Aguilera’s music video, “Your Body.”

On his days off, Paevey’s love for adventure leads him to uncharted territories for cliff jumping or other thrilling pursuits. His inherent nerdy side shines through as he indulges in video games and all things tech. Sitting still is not an option for this dynamic actor.
