“Supa Girlz” chronicles a dance season in the life of the esteemed Miami Northwestern “G Girls,” hailed as one of the top high school dance teams nationwide. Under the guidance of the fearless and visionary director, Traci Young-Byron, the G Girls have risen as a trendsetting viral phenomenon, mirroring the triumphs and tribulations of their Liberty City, Miami, community.
This verité documentary series offers a glimpse into a world where Young-Byron navigates the challenges of assembling a brand-new team of dancers and striving to replicate the towering achievements of her previous squads. Throughout one tumultuous school year, “Supa Girlz” intertwines Traci’s compelling personal journey with those of her young protégés—Kiara Laster, Kevonni White, Jaida Sumlar, and Jayla Dorsett—painting a poignant portrait of renewal and resilience in one of America’s most dynamic and impactful inner cities.
Directed and Executive Produced by Trishtan Williams, with a team of seasoned producers including Evan Rosenfeld, Matthew Goldberg, Brandon Carroll, Ryan Schiavo, Alex Lieberman, Gary Lieberman, and Tom Dunlap, along with Co-executive Producer Jeremy David White.
