The highly anticipated TV anime “Sasaki and Peeps,” adapted from a series of comic fantasy light novels, has unveiled a special preview video for its inaugural episode. Scheduled to debut in Japan on January 5, 2024, the series will also be available for streaming on Crunchyroll as part of its winter 2024 anime simulcast lineup.

Originating from the imaginative mind of Buncololi, with captivating illustrations by Kantoku, the original “Sasaki and Peeps” light novels are published in Japan by Media Factory under the MF Bunko J imprint, with an English version also offered by Yen Press. Helming the TV anime adaptation is Mirai Minato, directing under the banner of the esteemed animation studio SILVER LINK.

The narrative introduces Sasaki, a middle-aged office worker residing in Japan. Weary of the monotonous corporate world, he seeks solace in a pet shop, hoping to find a new companion. His eyes fall upon an endearing bird named Peeps, and he decides to bring the creature home. However, Sasaki soon discovers that Peeps is far from an ordinary bird; in fact, he is a potent mage hailing from another realm. Together, they embark on a magical journey, immersing themselves in a fantastical adventure replete with swords and sorcery. As the tale unfolds, the duo faces challenges that will test the limits of their newfound bond and magical prowess.
