Keys to the Heart 2023 movie review

Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for “Keys to the Heart,” the Filipino adaptation of the 2018 Korean film with the same title. The film features esteemed actor Lee Byung-hun, Academy Award winner Youn Yuh-jung, and Park Jeong-min.

Zanjoe Marudo takes the lead as Joma, a washed-up boxer on a quest to reconnect with his long-lost mother, portrayed by Dolly de Leon. Joma moves in with her and discovers that he has a younger autistic brother named Jayjay, played by Elijah Canlas, who happens to be an exceptionally talented pianist.

“Even though he’s like that, just let him listen to a song once, and he can play it flawlessly,” Joma’s mother shares, as we see glimpses of Jayjay playing the piano at Market! Market! and Palacio de Memoria.

Joma hatches a plan to enlist the help of Miss Universe Philippines 2023, portrayed by Michelle Dee, to enter Jayjay into a competition, despite facing resistance from some due to his condition.

“I’m incredibly grateful that I found you again, and that Jayjay has a sibling now,” expresses Dolly’s character, while Joma affectionately refers to Jayjay as a fighter.

The trailer concludes with Joma imparting boxing lessons to Jayjay, who unexpectedly lands a punch on his older brother as a boxing bell rings.
