Review and Release Updates for Hrithik Roshan’s Film “Fighter”:
Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone starrer “Fighter” hit the theaters on Thursday, directed by Siddharth Anand, known for his work on “Pathaan” and “War.” The film boasts a stellar cast, including Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, and Akshay Oberoi, among others. As it releases during the Republic Day weekend, it is gaining positive attention from audiences.
Despite the positive buzz, “Fighter” faced a setback as it was denied release in all Gulf countries, except the UAE. Analysts speculate that the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations might have reservations about the film’s content. Despite this, trade analysts in Bollywood express confidence in the film’s box office performance, predicting an impressive opening weekend with earnings potentially surpassing Rs 100 crore.
Reports suggest that “Fighter” is inspired by real-life events, specifically the Pulwama attack and the Balakot airstrikes. The film reportedly carries a strong patriotic theme, with dialogues addressing issues such as Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir and India’s surgical strikes. Some Pakistani actors on social media have hinted that the film may have an anti-Pakistan sentiment.
In response to these accusations, director Siddharth Anand clarified during a media interaction on Tuesday, stating, “The primary thing I want to reiterate and what has been said in the film is that our war is not against a country, it is against terrorism. That is what Fighter stands for. It is a fight against terrorism, not against a particular country. That is emphasized throughout the film.”
