The much-anticipated K-drama of 2024, Doctor Slump, boasts a star-studded cast, adding to the excitement surrounding the series. Headlined by renowned K-drama actors Park Shin-hye, Park Hyung-sik, and Yoon Park, the trio takes on pivotal roles in the show—Nam Ha-neul, Yeo Jeong-woo, and Bin Dae-yeong, respectively.
Park Shin-hye’s illustrious career in Korean films and television spans from her debut as a child actress in the widely popular K-drama Stairway to Heaven (2003) to her senior roles in Tree of Heaven (2006) and the big screen debut in Evil Twin (2007). A prolific artist, she has graced both critically and commercially acclaimed productions like You’re Beautiful (2009), Cyrano Agency (2010), Miracle in Cell No. 7 (2013), The Heirs (2013), Pinocchio (2014–2015), The Beauty Inside (2015), and many more.
Park Hyung-sik, initially a member of the K-pop group ZE:A, transitioned to acting and gained fame with his role in Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth (2016–2017). After a decade, Doctor Slump marks a reunion for Park Hyung-sik and Park Shin-hye since their collaboration in The Heirs. His subsequent hits include Strong Girl Bong-soon (2017), Suits (2018), Soundtrack #1 (2022), and Our Blooming Youth (2023).
Yoon Park, recognized for his roles in K-dramas such as What Happens to My Family? (2014) and Flower of Queen (2015), is a familiar face on the small screen. His diverse portfolio includes Good Doctor (2013), Introvert Boss (2017), Legal High (2019), You Are My Spring (2021), and Delightfully Deceitful (2023), as well as memorable cameos in various K-dramas.
While there is no official synopsis for Doctor Slump, Netflix describes the drama as revolving around two exceptionally gifted doctors, Nam Ha-neul and Yeo Jeong-woo, who were once rivals in school. The narrative unfolds as personal challenges draw them closer in their professional lives.
The show, consisting of 16 episodes with a duration of approximately 45 minutes each, will release new episodes every Saturday and Sunday at 10:30 pm KST (7 pm IST). The series is scheduled to run for eight weeks until March 17, 2024, following the standard two-episodes-per-week format, unless there are breaks or special episodes inserted by the creators.
