Crafted by the ingenious minds of Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij, known for their work on “The OA,” this upcoming series guarantees an unparalleled blend of tension, uniqueness, and foresight. Little does Darby know that a sinister crime awaits her when she’s invited to a secluded retreat. As one of the attendees is discovered dead, she must rely on her exceptional hacking skills and sharp detective instincts to establish that it was indeed murder before the killer strikes again. Here’s a comprehensive overview of what we currently know about “A Murder at the End of the World.”

The much-awaited “A Murder at the End of the World” is scheduled to premiere on Hulu on November 14. Originally slated for August 29, the release plans for this seven-episode murder mystery had to be modified due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike. This decision marks one of the first instances where a TV show outside the traditional fall schedule has altered its premiere date in response to the challenges faced by fellow writers and actors. As negotiations continue, actors and writers are unable to engage in press and promotion activities, making it difficult to generate anticipation for an original show not based on pre-existing intellectual property. Consequently, “A Murder at the End of the World” will make its exclusive debut in November.

Although a complete trailer is yet to be unveiled, FX Networks previously shared a teaser clip for the series. This brief 10-second teaser offers a tantalizing glimpse of the ensemble cast, effectively piquing curiosity and leaving viewers eager to learn more about the characters and their roles in this gripping murder mystery. Who knows? The identity of the perpetrator could be lurking among them.

At the forefront of “A Murder at the End of the World” is Emma Corrin. Recognized for their compelling portrayal of young Diana in Season 4 of “The Crown,” as well as notable performances in “My Policeman” and “Lady Chatterley’s Lover,” Corrin is poised to shine in this upcoming mystery-thriller. Moreover, Corrin is involved in several other exciting projects, including a role in Robert Eggers’ highly anticipated “Nosferatu,” as well as their introduction to the Marvel Cinematic Universe through “Deadpool 3.”

Harris Dickinson, recently seen in the Academy Award-nominated “Triangle of Sadness,” joins Corrin in the cast. Additionally, iconic BAFTA Award-winning actor Clive Owen, who portrayed President Bill Clinton in Season 3 of “American Crime Story,” is part of the ensemble. Other cast members include Alice Braga (“The Suicide Squad”) and the show’s co-creator, Brit Marling. The ensemble also features Joan Chen, Raúl Esparza, Jermaine Fowler, Ryan J. Haddad, Pegah Ferydoni, Javed Khan, Louis Cancelmi, Edoardo Ballerini, Britian Seibert, Christopher Gurr, Kellan Tetlow, Daniel Olson, and Neal Huff.

Originally known as “Retreat,” the show underwent a title change to “A Murder at the End of the World.” This new title better captures the essence of the series. As it joins Hulu’s impressive lineup of mystery thrillers, ranging from the witty “Only Murders in the Building” to the intense “Mare of Easttown,” viewers are left intrigued by the tone and atmosphere that this new show will bring. With a diverse range of mystery thrillers on the platform, “A Murder at the End of the World” has the opportunity to carve out its own unique identity, captivating audiences with its distinct blend of suspense, intrigue, and storytelling.

The brilliant minds behind “A Murder at the End of the World,” Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij, share a creative partnership spanning over a decade. Renowned for their collaboration on the Netflix mystery-science fiction drama “The OA,” the duo brings their expertise to this new series. “The OA” revolves around Prairie Johnson, a young blind woman who reappears in her hometown after a mysterious seven-year absence, astonishing everyone by regaining her sight. As her extraordinary abilities come to light, both her family and the authorities are baffled by the enigmatic circumstances surrounding her disappearance and her enigmatic journey. Marling and Batmanglij serve as executive producers alongside Andrea Sperling, Melanie Marnich, and Nicki Paluga. The seven-episode limited series was co-written by Marnich and Rebecca Roanhorse, with production handled by FX Productions.
