Keen to check out a new mystery movie this month, and have access to Hallmark Movies & Mysteries? Then you’ll be pleased to know another new film will be with you very shortly!

The film is called Unexpected Grace and stars Erica Durance, Michael Rady, Erica Tremblay, and Sophia Powers. Unexpected Grace follows the story of a mother who embarks on an unexpected journey.

The official blurb for Unexpected Grace (via Hallmark) reads as follows: “When Grace (Tremblay) finds a message tied to a balloon written by a girl named Toni (Powers), who was looking for a friend, she eagerly responds as she’s new in town and has been trying to find her place there. Toni’s mother Noelle (Durance), receives Grace’s note and is touched by it, but when she responds, she can’t find it in her to share that her daughter suddenly passed away two years prior.

“Noelle and Grace’s correspondence eventually leads to an in-person meeting, where Noelle then meets her father Jack (Rady). As the three of them spend time with each other, the friendship between Noelle and Grace leads them on an unexpected journey.

Young actress, Erica Tremblay takes on the role of Grace for Unexpected Grace. Despite her age (Tremblay is just 13) she has appeared in a string of movies and TV shows, including the film Hope at Christmas, and the TV series, The Twilight Zone.

Joining Tremblay on screen, and taking on the role of Noelle is Erica Durance, who Hallmark fans will know from such film favourites as Open by Christmas and North to Home. Durance is also a familiar face on television, having played the role of Lois Lane in hit TV series, Smallville, and having taken the lead in popular drama, Saving Hope.

Unexpected Grace is produced by Motherly Love Road and Front Street Pictures. Charles Cooper is the producer and Carla Singer is the executive producer.

Linda-Lisa Hayter is on directing duties, working from a story by Eugenia Zukerman. The teleplay is by Zukerman and Mark Hefti.

Should you want to check out Unexpected Grace, this new Hallmark mystery movie will air on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries in the US on Sunday March 12th at 7pm ET/PT. The film is one of a number of new movies lined up for 2023, joining the likes of The Cases of Mystery Lane and Carrot Cake Murder: A Hannah Swensen Mystery.
